Job Overview The Inbound Team Lead will supervise and lead a team of inbound operators at Jumia, ensuring the efficient, accurate receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming goods and materials. This role oversees the full receiving process, from verifying shipments to coordinating with cross-functional teams, while driving productivity, safety, and team performance within the inbound area.

What You Will Be Doing

• Supervise and lead a team of inbound operators, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure efficient and accurate receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming goods and materials.

• Oversee the receiving process for incoming shipments, including verifying quantities, inspecting items for damage or discrepancies, and recording information accurately in inventory systems.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Purchasing, Inventory Management, and Operations, to prioritize receiving activities, resolve discrepancies, and process returns in a timely manner.

• Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring equitable distribution of workload and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.

• Train new team members on inbound processes, equipment operation, and safety procedures, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills required to perform their duties effectively.

• Monitor workflow and productivity levels within the inbound area, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing measures to optimize performance and efficiency.

• Conduct regular inspections of inbound areas and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards, cleanliness, and organization, and addressing any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.

• Provide regular feedback and performance evaluations to team members, recognizing achievements, addressing performance issues, and identifying opportunities for development and growth.

• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the team, promoting open communication, teamwork, and accountability for results.
