Hardware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design electronic hardware circuits and PCB layouts that meet high standards for performance and reliability
• Maintain and update the technical source of truth for designs, including parts lists and bills of materials
• Develop training and procedures that help repair technicians work with precision and speed
• Create and update repair manuals that make complex fixes feel simple
• Conduct hands-on testing of products and tools, identifying design gaps and recommending modifications to make hardware better
• Analyse hardware specifications and market trends to determine the feasibility of new designs or modifications
• Keep detailed, accurate records of repair processes and results to help learn from every issue identified
• Work closely with technicians and other engineers to ensure hardware strategy is aligned across the team

Requirements

• A degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 3-5 years experience as a hardware/electronics engineer
• Experience in terminal or electronics repair is a strong advantage
• Strong analytical skills, enjoy connecting the dots and solving puzzles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and tracking
• Excellent attention to detail, take pride in accuracy and keeping things tidy
• A proactive, solution-oriented approach, don't wait for instructions to make things better
