Chief Supply Chain Officer - Jumia (Full Time)

Responsibilities

• Implement and standardize best-in-class fulfillment and supply chain workflows nationwide
• Recruit, train, and scale robust fulfillment and logistics teams capable of supporting rapid business growth
• Oversee localized fleets and third-party logistics (3PL) networks, driving strategic negotiations to optimize costs
• Own business outcomes, ensuring strict daily, weekly, and monthly tracking of operational KPIs
• Safeguard the seamless fulfillment of all orders while maintaining process agility to swiftly resolve daily operational emergencies
• Produce comprehensive executive reports on operational metrics, targets, and performance variances
• Manage departmental budgets and ensure all month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial processes are accurately executed
• Continuous improvement of internal workflows while fostering an unparalleled work environment dedicated to employee growth and engagement
• Drive the end-to-end project management of new operational initiatives and special strategic assignments

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
• Relevant professional certifications are a strong plus
• Advanced data analytics capabilities with proficiency in Excel, macros, pivot tables, and workbooks
• Proven track record of turning data into actionable reporting
• Solid years of commercial experience within E-commerce, FMCG, or fast-paced multinational logistics operations
• Deep understanding of e-commerce best practices, digital supply chain dynamics, and evolving customer and vendor behaviors
• Self-driven professional with strong entrepreneurial grit, exceptional leadership capabilities, and an independent follow-through mindset
• Polished written and verbal communication skills, with a natural comfort leading in culturally diverse environments
• Highly adept at crisis management, cross-functional coordination, resource optimization, and high-stakes vendor negotiations
