Team Lead, Credit Application Review

Responsibilities

• Ensure all verification processes align perfectly with consumer lending policies and risk standards
• Validate and sign off on verification findings to ensure accuracy and compliance before decisions are made
• Manage and mentor online and field verification agents, providing tools, knowledge, and guidance for effective performance
• Identify and flag potential fraud or high-risk applications by detecting discrepancies
• Ensure all verification tasks are completed within defined timelines to maintain seamless customer onboarding
• Maintain impeccable documentation and data accuracy for audit readiness and regulatory review
• Collaborate across teams to identify friction points in verification frameworks and suggest innovative improvements

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in financial services
• At least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role, specifically within verification, risk, compliance, or loan operations
• Deep understanding of document review, internal controls, and regulatory requirements in the Nigerian financial landscape
• Strong analytical skills with ability to identify red flags
• Proven ability to lead a team and manage high volumes of work while maintaining attention to detail
• Data-driven and evidence-based approach to decision-making and communication
• Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments and meet tight turnaround times without sacrificing quality
• Natural problem-solving ability with focus on root cause analysis and solutions
