Senior Product Designer - Design System.

at Moniepoint

Moniepoint Inc., Africa's all-in-one financial platform serving 20 million businesses and individuals, is seeking a Senior Product Designer (Design System) to take full ownership of component libraries, interaction models, and cross-platform design consistency. You will build the foundation of product user interfaces and act as the bridge between design and engineering.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an exceptionally high standard for layout, typography, colour, spacing, visual hierarchy, and overall digital finish across all reusable elements
  • Design, build, and maintain robust component libraries (buttons, inputs, cards, navigation, forms, tables, etc.) that scale seamlessly across products
  • Define interactive behaviors and state transitions (e.g., hover, focus, disabled, loading, and mobile behaviors) to ensure components feel alive and intuitive
  • Structure and maintain design tokens (colours, spacing, typography, border-radius, shadows) to drive consistency between design environments and code
  • Organize complex variants, properties, and components within Figma to empower other product designers to build quickly and accurately
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to navigate technical constraints across Web, React, Flutter, Android, and iOS/Native app environments
  • Create clear, comprehensive usage guidelines and documentation outlining when, why, and how components should (and should not) be used

Requirements

  • Extensive experience building, scaling, and maintaining production-ready design systems rather than just standalone product features
  • Deep understanding of the constraints and guidelines governing multiple platforms, including Web, iOS, and Android
  • A portfolio demonstrating how individual design decisions impact multiple products, scale sustainably, and optimize designer/engineer workflows
  • Strong familiarity with how developers inspect, build, and consume components in code repositories
  • Advanced knowledge of Figma libraries, auto-layout, components, variants, variables, and library publication
  • Solid grasp of accessibility standards (WCAG), contrast requirements, and inclusive design principles
  • Familiarity with component-driven frameworks (React, Flutter) and Atomic Design methodology
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills, with an ability to translate complex design system choices into clear executive-level updates and technical guidelines
  • Submit your resume and portfolio showcasing your best work - preferably with fintech or SaaS-related projects
  • Your portfolio should clearly demonstrate impact, including measurable improvements in user experience, business metrics, or engagement
  • Portfolio should show end-to-end product thinking, including research, wireframes, prototypes, and final execution

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and career growth opportunities
  • Fully remote work culture and support for professional development
