Engineering Director – Platform Transformation at Lemon.io

As Engineering Director, you'll be the technical authority steering Lemon.io's next phase of growth. You'll build and mentor an expanding engineering organization while remaining deeply hands-on—collaborating with founders and product to define strategic priorities before code is written. Your core responsibilities include: designing and owning the technical strategy that powers the marketplace's core functions—candidate vetting automation, intelligent matching algorithms, and supply-demand optimization. You'll make high-stakes decisions about what features ship, what gets delayed, and what directions to abandon entirely. Speed and quality aren't trade-offs; you'll foster an engineering culture that delivers both through ruthless prioritization and thoughtful complexity management. You'll also shape hiring and team development, building a group of engineers who take ownership, move decisively, and sweat the architectural details. This means working shoulder-to-shoulder with leadership to solve multi-faceted problems: how to vet talent reliably at scale, match supply to demand intelligently, and eliminate bottlenecks that slow hiring cycles. Ideal candidates bring product intuition alongside strong technical foundations. You think in terms of business leverage, not feature checklists.
