We are seeking an Executive Chef responsible for overseeing the daily kitchen operations of our brand: Factor, a healthy, ready-to-heat meal delivery service. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Production, this role will; partner with R&D to scale recipes from the test kitchen to commercialization and long-term production, ensure all food prepared meets the highest quality standards with unwavering consistency, and influence and elevate the Kitchen team through expertise, example, and mentorship.

• Lead by example on the kitchen floor , setting the standard for people safety, food safety and quality, culinary quality, and team engagement.

• Maintain food safety, kitchen standards, 5S, including equipment, food, and inventory; maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality, and appearance.

• Ensure the kitchen operates alongside provincial and federal health and safety codes.

• Work in compliance with OH&S acts and regulations.

• Use personal protective and safety equipment and clothing as directed by the employer and report workplace hazards and dangers to the supervisor or employer, and address hazards and dangers  promptly.

• Lead the kitchen's quality program, defining, documenting, and relentlessly refining processes that uphold product excellence, and partnering cross-functionally to embed quality standards into every stage of facility operations.

• Provide shift-level culinary direction and guidance, influencing without authority to uphold our meal standards.

• Build and continuously steer a strong culture within the kitchen operations team that balances employee safety, food safety, quality culture, employee engagement, and accountability for high performance.

• Work closely with the recipe development team to ensure that our recipes scale end to end from the test kitchen, to large batch production completion.

• Ensure all meals are prepared with outstanding consistency and quality, and are delivered on time and in full to our downstream operations teams.

• Carefully manage our relationships with any co-manufacturers, ensuring a high level of collaboration with their culinary staff and leadership.

• Set and achieve targets against key metrics (Food Safety, Quality, Cost, Efficiency, Employee engagement), support your team in delivering against them, and report regularly on progress to your peers and the leadership team.

• Work closely with your cross-functional partners in procurement, planning, nutrition, and culinary to make real-time adaptations to any recipes due to supply chain disruptions or production constraints, while maintaining product quality and on-time fulfilment.
