Toast builds the restaurant platform that helps restaurants adapt, take control, and get back to what they do best: building the businesses they love. Our Embedded Finance division develops financial products tailored specifically to restaurants, including bank accounts, debit and credit cards, and loans.
We’re looking for an Android Software Engineer III to join our Banking team in Dublin, part of Toast’s Embedded Finance division. You’ll help build new financial capabilities in the ToastNow Android app, giving restaurant owners convenient access to the tools they need to manage their finances.
A day in the life (Responsibilities)
• Own the development and delivery of Banking features in the ToastNow Android app
• Work with product, design, and engineering partners to shape features and technical solutions
• Collaborate with the US-based ToastNow Android team on architecture, feature integration and delivery
• Build reliable, maintainable and well-tested experiences that make financial tasks straightforward for restaurant owners
• Partner with teams across Toast to deliver cohesive solutions
• Leverage cutting edge AI tools to enhance your development workflow, improve velocity, and help pioneer new approaches to building - contributing to a culture of innovation and productivity across the team.
**This is a hybrid role requiring two days per week in the Dublin office**
What you'll need to thrive (Requirements)
• Experience building Android applications with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, coroutines and Flow
• Experience with modern Android architecture including patterns such as MVI
• Ability to take ownership of features from technical design through delivery
• Proactive communication and cross-team collaboration skills
• Passion for creating exceptional user experiences
The icing on the cake* (Nice-to-haves)
• Familiarity with Compose-based presentation and state-management approaches such as Circuit or Molecule
• Consumer fintech experience
• iOS development experience to support collaboration with ToastNow iOS engineers
