Job Overview The Outbound Team Lead manages the pick, pack, and dispatch process at Jumia's fulfillment center, ensuring packing materials are used efficiently, outbound KPIs are met, and orders are shipped accurately and on time, while leading and developing the outbound team.
What You Will Be Doing
• Manage the usage of packing materials and ensure usage matches dispatched orders.
• Create and develop packaging guidelines for each category of items.
• Manage weekly cycle counts for packing materials, minimizing waste.
• Manage same-day delivery coordination with the inventory team to ensure 100% of orders are shipped.
• Plan capacity in line with weekly volume projections and manage the projection, utilization, and storage of packaging materials.
• Confirm all shipping and picking deadlines and priority cut-off times are consistently met.
• Achieve 100% of outbound KPIs; monitor KPIs to track success and recurring problems.
• Track and maintain productivity standards for each associate, ensuring special instructions are followed and appropriate picking/packing methods are used.
• Control miss-shipments and backorders, locating missing products as needed.
• Audit outbound products, and shipment accuracy.
• Audit all investigation cases and ensure they do not exceed SLA.
• Audit team attendance, and working performance
• Update the team schedule weekly to match expected order volume.
• Provide constructive insight and feedback to management when targets are not reached, and daily reporting on output.
What We Are Looking For
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
• Experience in warehousing, outbound operations, or order management, including some experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
• Background experience in QA management is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Email, Internet, etc.); proficient in Google Office Suite (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Gmail, etc.).
• Proven ability to deploy and prioritize workforce effectively to meet daily and same-day shipping targets.
