Job Description

About the Team

The Enterprise Marketing team helps the world's largest organizations understand, adopt, and scale AI responsibly. We partner closely with Sales, Solutions, Product, Research, Customer Success, Events, Comms, and executive leadership to help customers see what is possible with OpenAI and move from interest to action.

Within Enterprise Marketing, the Executive Briefing Center team creates strategic conversations for OpenAI's most important customers and prospects. We bring together customer context, product insight, technical expertise, and executive storytelling to help senior leaders understand what AI can make possible for their business.

About the Role

As the Executive Programs Narrative Lead, you will shape how our most strategic customers experience and understand OpenAI in high-stakes executive moments. You will own the narrative strategy for priority Executive Briefing Center conversations, turning OpenAI's technology, customer insight, and enterprise strategy into bespoke C-suite narratives that help leaders understand where AI can create business value, unlock new ways of working, and support transformation at scale.

This is a senior role for someone who combines strategic storytelling, customer empathy, executive presence, and experience design instincts. You will partner across Sales, Solutions, Product Marketing, Customer Success, Events, Design, and executive stakeholders to build briefing narratives that feel specific, strategic, and commercially relevant.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will

  • Develop bespoke executive narratives for priority customer briefings.
  • Partner with Sales and account teams to understand customer context, transformation goals, buying committee dynamics, and strategic priorities.
  • Shape briefing arcs that connect OpenAI capabilities to customer business outcomes.
  • Translate complex AI concepts into clear, credible, executive-level conversations.
  • Build repeatable narrative frameworks, briefing modules, and planning tools for the EBC motion.
  • Partner with Design, Events, Product Marketing, Solutions, Customer Success, and executive stakeholders to create high-quality briefing experiences.
  • Help prepare internal leaders for strategic customer conversations with clear messaging, talk tracks, and briefing materials.
  • Identify patterns across customer briefings that should inform broader enterprise narrative, content, or field motions.

You might thrive in this role, if you

  • Have 10+ years experience building executive-level customer narratives, strategic briefings, innovation programs, transformation workshops, or similar C-suite engagements.
  • Have a strong track record of turning customer context and complex technology into clear, useful executive conversations.
  • Have partnered directly with Sales, account teams, customer-facing leaders, executives, design, or strategy teams.
  • Can operate in ambiguous, high-stakes environments where inputs are incomplete and the story needs to be shaped from first principles.
  • Bring strong writing, synthesis, and executive communication skills.
  • Have strong customer empathy and understand what senior enterprise leaders need to hear, discuss, and decide.
  • Can move between bespoke customer work and repeatable narrative frameworks.

Compensation Range: $266K - $295K USD
