Manager, Executive Assistant

asana · Vancouver, BC · Full-time

About this role

Asana is looking for a strategic, supportive, and business-savvy leader to manage our global Administrative Business Partner (ABP) community. This is more than a traditional operations role; it is a people-first leadership position designed to bring stability, clarity, and growth to a team that is the backbone of our executive leadership.

You will lead our full-time, global ABPs and oversee our offshore ABP support program. Your mission is to balance operational rigor with a human-centric approach, ensuring our ABPs feel supported in their career journeys while providing world-class partnership to Asana’s top executives.

This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. If you're interviewing for this role, your recruiter will share more about the in-office requirements.

What you’ll achieve

• Bridge Strategy & Execution: Act as a high-level partner to the Head of RE & Workplace, ensuring the ABP function aligns with Asana’s broader business goals.

• Evaluate & Optimize: Conduct comprehensive strategic audits of internal programs. You will determine their long-term viability, impact on executive productivity, and whether to scale, pivot, or maintain the current model.

• Development of Team:  Coach the high-performing team of ABP’s, ensuring they are accountable for the overall quality and consistency of their work, ensuring every interaction is grounded in business context and aligned to company priorities.  Establish clear expectations for business acumen, judgment, and impact across the ABP team.

• Standardize Excellence: Develop a standard of excellence based on the Asana Operating Principles for executive support—creating playbooks for calendar management, global travel, and meeting rhythms that allow for executive-specific nuances while maintaining a high global standard.

• Resource Management: Manage headcount planning, budgeting, and workload balancing. You’ll ensure that the ABP team is not over-leveraged and that every executive has the right level of support.  You will provide ABP coverage from time to time when we are resource constrained,

• Foster Culture: Build a sense of community and team among a group that is often siloed within different functional departments.

• Lead with Empathy: Act as a stable, empathetic, and supportive coach for the ABP team, helping them navigate their fast paced and high stress roles and charting clear pathways for their professional development.

About you

• 8+ years of people management experience and a proven track record of leading through change with grace and transparency and leading high performing teams.  You have experience in leading remote teams and building relationships
