About this role
The role: What's in the Box
As search behavior evolves across Google, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Reddit, and other discovery surfaces, our SEO team is expanding its focus from traditional organic search to broader Organic Discovery: building the technical, content, and measurement foundations that help customers find us wherever dinner decisions are made.
As part of this team you’ll strengthen the technical SEO foundation across high-impact surfaces such as recipe pages, collections, and editorial content, as well as new AI/GEO discovery formats.
Since this isn’t a purely advisory role you’ll also diagnose complex SEO issues, translate them into scalable product and engineering requirements, partner closely with developers and product managers, and measure the impact of technical and programmatic SEO improvements across international markets.
Please note that this position is a 24-month fixed-term contract (with the aim of converting it to a permanent position afterwards).
What you’ll do: The Recipe
• Own the technical SEO strategy across HelloFresh Group websites, focused on crawlability, indexation, site architecture, structured data, internal linking, and international SEO.
• Lead technical audits and turning findings into prioritized roadmaps.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to define SEO requirements for templates, migrations, content systems, automation, and sitewide technical changes.
• Control international SEO workstreams including hreflang, canonicals, URL structure, duplicate content, and multilingual/multi-market visibility.
• Build scalable SEO QA processes for launches, including pre-launch validation, post-launch monitoring, crawl checks, and structured data checks.
• Drive programmatic SEO and automation initiatives, including XML sitemaps, internal linking logic, page creation workflows, and publishing guardrails.
• Use SEO, analytics, crawl, ranking, and internal data to diagnose issues, identify opportunities, and measure impact.
• Communicate technical SEO priorities clearly to senior stakeholders, connecting recommendations to traffic, conversion, crawl efficiency, and AI/GEO visibility.
What you’ll bring: The Ingredients
• At least 5 years of SEO experience, with strong hands-on technical SEO ownership for large-scale websites as well as experience in working on international or multi-market websites with complex language, country, domain, or subdirectory structures.
• Deep knowledge of crawlability, indexation, canonicals, hreflang, redirects, structured data, XML sitemaps, internal linking, JavaScript rendering, Core Web Vitals, and site architecture.
• Strong stakeholder management and strategic thinking, with the ability to influence Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders, independently drive SEO initiatives, and connect technical SEO priorities to business impact.
• Proven ability to partner effectively with Product
