As the Government Affairs Strategic Partnerships Lead , you will lead market expansion by securing access to critical infrastructure, managing relationships with key stakeholders, and driving operational success in a highly regulated environment. You will develop strategic partnerships with public and private entities, navigate complex government processes, and ensure compliance while establishing access to high-value transportation hubs across the country.
About the Role
• Secure high-impact locations for bus stops and stations by leveraging government relationships and private-sector negotiation skills
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with government agencies, municipal councils, and regulatory bodies to support business growth
• Lead region strategy and align commercial objectives with government policies by identifying opportunities and mitigating regulatory risks
• Represent the company in discussions with transportation authorities and media and prepare materials for hearings and public consultations
• Lead site acquisition, ensuring compliance with zoning, permitting, and safety standards across jurisdictions
• Develop partnerships with businesses, transit agencies, and property owners to enhance station access and amenities
• Serve as the primary contact for station-related and government relations matters, advocating for the company in infrastructure planning forums
• Up to 30% business travel as needed
• Manage up to two direct reports, depending on organizational needs, with responsibilities evolving over time
• Lead strategy and execution of state and federal affairs
About You
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Communications or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or real estate development, including work with government entities
• Demonstrated success in owning business strategy and securing agreements with government agencies or private stakeholders to support business growth
• 2+ years of project management experience with strong knowledge of transportation regulations and public transit systems
• 1+ years of people management experience or experience leading cross-functional teams with in-direct reporting lines
• Skilled in negotiation, stakeholder management, and analyzing policies to identify risks and opportunities
• Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal abilities, with experience presenting to senior officials and business leaders
• Familiarity with real estate transactions, land-use planning, and infrastructure development
• Experience with RFPs and grant writing is a plus but not required
• Up to 30% travel as business needs arise
Salary Range: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 USD
