MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Self-sufficient, independent, all-round technician performing preventive and emergent maintenance and troubleshooting on various equipment used by the Flight Hardware Logistics team, who is responsible for the transportation of Falcon engines, stages, and components. We are looking for a systematic problem solver who understands a high-volume manufacturing environment and keeps the equipment running in optimal condition.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Troubleshoot and repair the following: air ride suspension and brake systems, lighting, wiring, gas-powered pony motors and generators, and fluid hydraulic systems on shipping fixtures
• Engage in preventive maintenance of various mechanical, control, hydraulic, fluid, and electrical systems
• Troubleshoot various mechanical, control, hydraulic, fluid, and electrical systems down to the component level
• Adhere to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Biennial Inspection of Terminals (BIT) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
• Perform CHP and DOT-required 90-day inspections, as well as annual inspections
• Document all work and repairs by creating and updating maintenance tickets and work orders
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 2+ years of professional experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, mechanical, fluid, and/or control systems
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Experience leading a team or managing a maintenance program, shop, etc.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while maintaining a high sense of urgency in a high-paced, challenging work environment
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
• Commercial driver’s license (CDL)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be available to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed based on operational needs; flexibility required
• Must be available to travel up to 25% of the time
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range: Maintenance Technician/Level 1: $23.00 - $27.00/hour Maintenance Technician/Level 2: $26.00 - $32.50/hour Maintenance Technician/Level 3: $31.00 - $38.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
