The Role: We are looking for a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting to oversee financial reporting, technical accounting and M&A. Reporting to the SVP, Group Controller, the role will be a key position in the finance organization, interacting and coordinating with various departments across the company to ensure proper accounting treatment and accurate financial results. Successful candidates for this position will have the equivalent of 5+ years of professional experience.
The work you’ll do:
• Manage the USGAAP reporting and other external reporting requirements. Support IFRS and statutory reporting as needed.
• Proactively identify, research, communicate, and resolve complex accounting matters.
• Lead policy initiatives, including the implementation of new accounting standards, and ensure global accounting policies are maintained and up to date.
• Continuously monitor, document, and communicate new accounting standards to the organization and determine their impact on the company.
• Lead or support cross-functional strategic initiatives ensuring accounting impacts are proactively addressed.
• Lead Financial M&A due diligence, partner with Corporate Accounting to integrate these transactions, and communicate with Corporate Development and cross-functional team leads on accounting matters.
• Drive management of valuation exercises, including partnering with 3rd party valuation firms to ensure proper valuation and disclosures.
• Support complex areas including equity investments, stock-based compensation, and hedge accounting.
• Develop a culture of mentorship, continuous improvement, finance transformation, automation, training, and success in the finance organization.
The qualifications you need:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA; Public accounting experience with Big 4.
• 5+ years of experience in public accounting / private industry with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Strong leadership skills with a consistent record of leading meaningful initiatives across the organization.
