LILT is seeking skilled writers to contribute original, human-authored text samples across a range of subject domains. This work supports our language data and AI evaluation initiatives, helping ensure high-quality, authentic writing is available to benchmark and improve language technology.
WHAT YOU'LL DELIVER
- Write an original, human-authored text in your domain(s) of expertise (e.g., law, business, biography, religion, philosophy, poetry).
- Follow a provided prompt as the starting point for your piece, once your domain of expertise has been identified.
- Ensure all content is entirely original — no use of AI tools, translation tools, or copied material from any source.
- Attest in writing to the originality of your submission.
- Agree not to publish the content anywhere else, in accordance with the project's confidentiality terms.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Native-level fluency and strong writing skills in the target language.
- Demonstrable subject-matter expertise in one or more domains (e.g., law, business, biography, religion, philosophy, poetry - other domains may apply).
- Prior writing experience preferred (professional, academic, or published work).
- Strong command of style, tone, and structure appropriate to the chosen domain.
- Comfortable working independently from a prompt with minimal creative guidance.
- Strict adherence to originality and confidentiality requirements.

Our goal is to measure multilingual robustness across prompt language effects, non-English data processing, and complex locale/encoding edge cases in terminal workflows.
WHAT TO CONSIDER BEFORE APPLYING
- Not ideal as a full time job or primary income source. Work availability fluctuates with project demand, making this better suited as a supplemental income stream. As a 1099 contractor, you won't receive benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, or retirement contributions, and hours are not guaranteed.
- Requires reliable availability and commitment. Once you accept a task, we expect quality work and on-time delivery. Most tasks require a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week. If your schedule is unpredictable, this may not be the right fit.
- Geographic restrictions may apply. We cannot engage contractors in regions subject to international embargo or sanctions. As a 1099 contractor, you are solely responsible for your own tax obligations. We recommend consulting a tax professional before engaging.
