Chief of Staff

seatgeek · New York, NY · Full-time

About this role

SeatGeek believes live events are powerful experiences that unite humans. With our technological savvy and fan-first attitude we’re simplifying and modernizing the ticketing industry.

By catering to both consumers and enterprises, we’re powering a new, open entertainment ecosystem where fans have effortless access to experiences, and teams, venues, and shows have seamless access to their audiences. Because everyone should expect more from ticketing.

We're looking for a Chief of Staff to partner closely with our co-founder and CEO, Jack, helping drive key strategic priorities, lead cross-functional initiatives, and take ownership of high-impact responsibilities across the business.

You'll work side-by-side with Jack and our exec team on a daily basis, tackling key issues that are facing SeatGeek and finding new ways to improve and grow the company.

SeatGeek is an unusual company. And within it, this is an unusual role, one with unprecedented breadth. You’ll be asked to work with dozens of diverse areas of the business. Your responsibilities will change on a weekly basis. We can promise you it will be intense, difficult, and that you will be pushed…but that you will learn a tremendous amount and never be bored.

What you'll do

• Work with leaders across the company to set, align, and track company goals

• Prepare presentation material for management and board meetings

• Project-manage cross-team initiatives

• Operationalize new areas of SeatGeek's business

• Monitor the status of key company projects, push forward said projects

• Diligence new opportunities

• Work closely with Jack on all critical issues SeatGeek faces

What you have

• 7+ years in management consulting, strategy, senior business operations, or a chief of staff role at a high-growth company

• 2+ years in a role owning client or executive relationships

• Experience leading senior executives to decisions: preparing the discussion, running the room, and making sure the decision sticks, not just presenting or taking notes

• Sound judgment. You can make a call your executive would stand behind, and you know which calls aren’t yours to make

• Influence without authority. You bring senior, long-tenured leaders around to a direction, and you’re candid enough to push back when you disagree

• Intellectual horsepower and curiosity. You dig into any problem, ask sharp questions, and keep going until you get to the answer

• Quantitative and structured. You’re comfortable with financials, metrics, and data, can build or pressure-test a model, and land on a recommendation, not a list of options

• Clear, concise writing and speaking, tailored to your audience

• Discretion with sensitive board, compensation, org, and M&A information

• No ego. Entrepreneurial and scrappy, equally happy in a board deck, a data pull, or a messy cross-team problem

• Calm and fast under pressure, with good judgment about what needs polish and what needs to get done today

Nice to have
