Entry Level Production Technician (Starlink Aviation)

spacex · Woodinville, WA · Full-time

About this role

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

ENTRY LEVEL PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN (STARLINK AVIATION)

As a Starlink Aviation Production Technician, you will assemble, integrate, test, and repair Starlink enterprise and aviation hardware to documented procedures. The Starlink Aviation team builds mobility systems that connect aircraft to the Starlink constellation and support the in-flight customer experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assemble, activate, and integrate mechanical and electrical hardware for Starlink aviation development units and certification or production test builds, using documented work instructions.

• Install and repair Starlink enterprise and aviation products to FAA, quality, and workmanship requirements.

• Troubleshoot hardware issues in real time and report findings to engineering or quality so repeat problems get fixed.

• Run vibration, shock, thermal, RF, load, and related tests per procedure; collect and report data used for FAA certification.

• Maintain product quality and build hardware to specification.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.

• 1+ year of experience in a production, maintenance, or lab environment using hand tools (for example: screwdriver, ratchet, Allen keys, torque wrench, pliers, multimeter).

• 1+ year of experience performing electrical or mechanical installations and/or assembly.

Level 1 is the entry band for candidates who meet the basic qualifications. Level 2 is for candidates who also meet most of the preferred skills, especially aircraft hardware or harness experience.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 1+ year of experience fixing, installing, or building aircraft hardware.

• Hands-on experience fabricating harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies.

• Experience building or supporting printed circuit board assemblies and test stations.

• Experience with a multimeter; exposure to an oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, or network analyzer is a plus.

• Excellent attention to detail and a habit of documenting and correcting nonconformances so they do not repeat.

• Aircraft Electronics Technician (AET) or Certified Aircraft Electronics Technician (CAET) certification.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Willing to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed.

• Shift assignment is either 1st shift (6:00 AM–4:00 PM) or 2nd shift (4:00 PM–2:00 AM). The posted requisition will state which shift is being hired.

• Standing for long periods, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required.

• Must be able to lift up to 25 lb unassisted.

COMPENSATION:

• Level 1: $23.00–$29.00 per hour

• Level 2: $28.00–$34.50 per hour
