About this role
The Shipping Associate oversees day-to-day operations across receiving, shipping, warehousing, inventory distribution, and logistics. Reporting directly to the Shift Lead and Supervisor, the associate executes operational directives while ensuring strict compliance with all safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards, and PPE/hygiene policies. The role requires certification and proficiency in operating material handling equipment as designated by facility leadership.

You will...
• Palletize assembled boxes securely and systematically according to designated shipping specifications.
• Ensure all cartons are upright with carrier color-coded indicators clearly facing outward.
• Build uniform, tier-by-tier loads to maintain structural stability during handling and transit.
• Audit shipping labels across packages to verify alignment with the correct carrier lane.
• Wrap and secure completed pallets prior to staging or transport.
• Safely and efficiently transfer pallets from the production floor to the shipping dock.
• Confirm each pallet undergoes verification by the Shipping Verifier and receives proper pallet identification labeling before transfer.
• Perform incoming verification checks on top-layer shipping labels for all incoming pallets.
• Validate that visible color tags match designated shipping lane specifications.
• Generate, complete, and affix official pallet labels to verified loads.
• Coordinate and direct the placement of pallets into their respective shipping lanes.
• Accurately record pallet data using the Box Counter Tool for every processed load.
• Visually confirm that incoming trailers are properly staged at the designated dock doors.
• Perform thorough trailer cleanliness and safety inspections, completing required documentation prior to loading.
• Re-verify top-layer package labels for each pallet prior to trailer loading.
• Conduct visual perimeter checks of staged pallet lanes to confirm uniform color coding.
• Reconcile total loaded box counts against expected carrier manifests; conduct final floor sweeps across shipping and production areas for final outbound shipments of each carrier.
• Collaborate effectively across cross-functional facility departments to resolve operational bottlenecks.
• Work autonomously under minimal supervision while carrying out management directives professionally.
• Maintain material handling equipment and promptly escalate operational or mechanical defects to supervisors.
• Maintain organized and clean work environments in accordance with facility 5S and safety regulations.
• Input operational data accurately into inventory management systems and software platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Sheets).
