At Sierra, we’re creating a platform to help businesses build better, more human customer experiences with AI. We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices in Atlanta, New York, London, Paris, Madrid, Munich, Singapore, Tokyo, and Sydney.

Our co-founders are Bret Taylor https://www.linkedin.com/in/brettaylor/ and Clay Bavor https://www.linkedin.com/in/claybavor/. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Manage end-to-end accounting close
- Accountable for ensuring timely close across all global entities
- Own balance sheet reconciliations
- Review accuracy and completely of expenses including developing robust accrual process
- Prepare period-over-period analysis
Assist with order to cash process
- Ensure timely processing of customer invoices
- Develop systematic approach to AR collections
- Review customer contracts and consumption reports to ensure accurate revenue recognition recorded accordingly to ASC606
Lead preparation of audit preparedness
- Coordinate with external auditors for timely submission of all required requests (Global Audit and local Statutory Audits)
Proactive involvement in Finance Transformation initiatives to leverage AI and tooling to scale
- Enhance or upgrade our our tech stack to enable the latest in AI technology
- Challenge our processes and develop AI first approachWhat you’ll bring
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 6+ years with a mix of public (highly regulated) and private (hyper growth)
- Proficient in US GAAP (revenue recognition, lease accounting, stock based compensation, etc)
- Ability to identify areas for improvement and build solutions using AI
- Desire to drive operational efficiency to scale the accounting function
- A structured, self-directed, detail-oriented builder and problem solver who can design a process where none exists, run it, and improve it over time without being managed toward it. A bias for simplifying and automating processes and passion for building an AI-native finance function.
